Preparing for your experience.

First and foremost, set your intention. What does this mean? It means to be very clear about what it is you want from the experience. Think about it. Write it down. Imagine what it will look like when you have it. Setting your clear intention will act as a rudder through the experience, decrease anxiety and set the tone.

Additionally, a good rule to remember is that the cleaner you come to the experience physically, the smoother it will be and the quicker your recovery time.

This can be effected in part by modifying your diet at least one week prior by taking out pork, red meat, processed and fried foods and sugar. Replace these with simple, wholesome foods, with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables. Drink a lot of water. Seriously.

The better overall physical health you are in will also play a role. If you don't already, begin some simple form of exercise which increases your heart rate, such as walking an hour a day. Build your stamina.

Your facilitator will tailor supplements to your unique situation, but for most, the addition of daily calcium, magnesium and potassium is recommended, as well as a B-complex vitamin and an aspirin daily. These supplements can be started at any time, but at least one week prior to your arrival. Also, avoid grapefruit, tonic water and Earl Grey tea.

You will be in contact with your facilitator several times before you arrive. This outline gives you a general idea and acts as a reference guide. Your specific instructions may be different than what is written here.

The information on this page is specific to Iboga. Experiences with other remedies require different preparations.

Requirements and exclusions.

Before any planning together begins, we require at minimum a clearly scanned copy of a recent EKG/ECG, and the results of a recent liver panel/hepatic panel. We may require additional testing under certain circumstances. This is to ensure that you are able to physically withstand the rigors of the experience.

We also require that you complete an application for our review. We have separate applications for psychospiritual and detox sessions.

The application for a psychospiritual session is here.

The application for a detox session is here.

We reserve the right not to work with those we do not consider to be a good fit for our facility.

Exclusions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Heart disease

Epilepsy or history of seizures

COPD

Emphysema

Diabetes not controlled by diet or medication

Pregnancy

History of blood clots or coagulation problems

Hypertension not controlled by diet or medication

Stroke

Severly compromised liver functioning

Kidney disease

Psychosis

Sometimes a lower dose or 'microdose' regimen is appropriate, even with some of these conditions. It is imperative that you are entirely honest about your medical history and conditions, as the risks are very real, and can include serious injury and death.

Yes, it is very safe.

Iboga West is situated on a hill overlooking an estuary, in a small community with two monitored entrances, not far from Ensenada.

Travel to the town takes just over an hour from the San Diego airport, and is a direct drive on a patrolled toll road.

We value our privacy (and yours) and will not post pictures of our facility here, but will be happy to arrange to take you on a live virtual tour via Skype.
